Happy Holidays from Yuma
December 12th, 2019
5pm - 8pm
Break out those ugly sweaters and get ready for all of the hot cocoa for this year's first Happy Holidays from Yuma event! Get in the holiday spirit and spread some cheer with a lighted village, photos with Santa, hayrides, and so much more. Eat, drink, and be merry with food, a beer garden, and live performances of holiday music.
The Lighted Village wouldn't be complete without the Night Before Christmas! Walkthrough the holiday lights and read through the poem "The Night Before Christmas". Enjoy the hard work of the participant's displays.
Please fill out all of the information by December 9th, 2019 to make it to the December 10th, 2019 Coordinatrion meeting on December 10th, 2019 from 5pm - 6pm
Ugly Sweater/Holiday Costume Contest
This will be available only to the Single Marine Program (SMP), to provide an activity to engage them to ensure their inclusion in the festivities. SMP members will be able to choose to wear an ugly sweater/Christmas-themed costume to be judged in the contest. Prizes will be awarded for the best outfit/costume.
A “giving tree” will be decorated with lights and “giving cards” and placed at the Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) on 2 December. The giving tree will be relocated to the parade deck for the event. Each Command will nominate three anonymous families that may benefit from having gifts provided to their family. Community members will be able to select a giving card and purchase the items listed on the card. These purchases will be returned to building 598 at MCFTB. After the event, the tree with unselected cards returned to the (MCX), to allow more opportunities to be selected.
