New Parent Support Program is a professional team of social workers and nurses who provide supportive and caring services to military families. Our trained, supervised home visitors have extensive knowledge of the issues encountered by today's parents. Some of the areas in which they can help you with are potty training, nutrition, tantrums, importance of rules and routines, developmental milestones, tips on sibling rivalry, learning effective positive discipline techniques that work along with stress management. These home visitors are sensitive to the unique challenges facing military families. The N.P.S.P. helps families cope with stress, isolation, post-deployment reunions, and the everyday demands of parenthood through a variety of programs including home visits, support groups, and parenting classes. Classes offered on a monthly basis are Daddy’s Baby Boot Camp, Mom’s Basic Training, Breastfeeding, Hospital Tours of Yuma Regional Medical Center and Stork Club.
